Implement SSO Feature for CMIS using SAML

CMIS is being used rapidly to communicate with FileNet repository by multiple client application for content operations. SSO feature will provide seamless user interaction with FileNet and proper security will be applied based on login user.

We needed SSO feature for CMIS but as IBM confirmed on PMR that current CMIS does not support SSO feature for REST and SOAP operations. Please let me know what details you need to consider this.

As far as the scenario goes , in our case customers, agents who logs in to portal to view the insurance document should only see the document they have access to. This can be easily maintained using groups on CPE but since there is no single sign we are considering the below option

    1. using service account to get documents and filtering document on front end to display

    2. Front end or client application send username and password when request to FileNet, for this they have to capture and maintain user credentials and its big ask for any client who want to use FileNet integrations

    3. If SSO implemented , user simply click on document link which will be redirected for SSO and based on its right on CPE he will be able to view or not view document . This enabled seamless integration with FileNet documents

Is there a way to get more detailed information about the scenario?
