Provide Object Store Mapping Support During Deployment of Promoted Legacy Case Solutions from Workflow Center to Connected Workflow Servers

IBM Business Automation Workflow supports deployment of promoted legacy Case solutions from Workflow Center to connected Workflow Servers. During deployment, users can choose whether to install the snapshot; however, there is currently no option to specify or modify FileNet Object Store mappings as part of the deployment workflow. As a result, promoted solutions may retain Object Store references from the source environment, causing deployment or runtime issues when the target environment uses different Object Store identifiers.

Although the existing Modify Data Map functionality can be used to update Object Store mappings, it requires manual modification of the solution package before deployment. This approach introduces additional administrative effort and complicates solution promotion across environments. The deployment experience for legacy Case solutions would be improved by providing native Object Store mapping capabilities during deployment from Workflow Center to connected Workflow Servers.

This enhancement should extend the existing deployment workflow by allowing users to select, configure, or override Object Store mappings as part of the snapshot deployment process. Providing Object Store mapping at deployment time would simplify environment promotion, reduce manual package manipulation, improve deployment reliability, and better align with modern deployment and automation practices.
