Enable Rediscovery of REST APIs in IBM BAW with the ability to reuse existing Business Objects (BOs) even when the OpenAPI YAML/JSON files are located in different paths.

Currently IBM BAW doesn’t permit to rediscover a REST API service and if something changes the only option available is the discovery of a new REST API service.

The discovery of a new REST API Service, even if it can be bound on the same server discovered before, it causes the creation of duplicated Business Objects, especially if the location of the YAML or JSON file its different from the original one.

The enhancement is to allow rediscovery of the same REST API service even if the OpenAPI definition file is in a different path or under a different file name, with an option to instruct BAW to reuse the existing BOs and not create duplicates.

This feature is particularly useful for customers who develop REST services in parallel environments (e.g., beta and production) where the service files may reside in different locations during various stages of development and deployment.

This enhancement would benefit development teams working in parallel on different environments or versions of REST services. For example, during beta testing, the REST API definition files are stored in a separate location from production.

Without this capability, rediscovering the same service from different file locations creates duplicate BOs, complicating governance and process design.

Allowing rediscovery with BO reuse ensures seamless transition from testing to production and reduces manual clean-up and maintenance effort.

The feature should allow the user to explicitly mark the service as “same” during rediscovery or provide automatic detection based on service metadata, enabling reuse of BOs regardless of file path or name.
