Support for reallocating a single BAW process application.

We are in the middle of a migration to move away our process applications from iPas (Pure Systems) to another target platform. The preferred target platform will be CP4BA on OpenShift. However, there might be applications that somehow will not be able to be migrated to CP4BA. In that case there will be a (temporary) BAW running on Linux / IAAS platform. Right now, we have many applications sharing the same process server. The way IBM support a migration towards CP4BA is by a BAW product database copy, including all applications. When deciding which application will have which target platform it would be a great benefit if a single process application could be moved/reallocated instead of all the process applications at the same time sharing the same process server.

With reallocate I mean taking a process application from process server A and moving the application including the business data of active process instances to process server B. Both process server A and B may have more applications running.

Besides the particular use case we have for migration purpose, reallocation will also be of great value when a process server becomes too busy because one of the process application is consuming more resources that expected up front. Moving / reallocating this application to a separate process server would help also in this scenario.

    To move from a traditional to a container environment, IBM recommends moving systems on a server-by-server basis. This has been officially supported for multiple releases, and is a stable, proven, robust strategy for moving workloads. See: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/baw/25.0.x?topic=automation-moving-inflight-process-instances This methodology will continue to be the best practice for moving full systems with large numbers of Process Apps as it greatly reduces the number of steps and overall project plan risk for a system migration. The new per-Process App move feature is in development, and subject to the agile development process. Until this feature is released, it is not recommended to rely on its availability. Furthermore, this feature should be used to make smaller adjustments to deployed systems, and is not recommended to be used to move large numbers of Process Apps.
