ILMT without ClusterRole

Hi

As discussed in the case TS012233404, we'd like to run the ibm-license-service without a ClusterRole and it should honor WATCH_NAMESPACE, and just check in those namespaces for IBM products.

As we have no cluster admin rights in our namespace, the requirement of cluster scoped resources/roles leads to security and performance concerns by given global OpenShift provider.

Thank you

Best Regards

Oktay

License service is part of Common Services which are including in Cloud Pak for Business Automation. The default install is cluster scoped but it can be installed namespace scoped. Also, if there were multiple deployments of Cloud Paks, there would be a need to install multiple License Services in order to track vs just having one.

    Hi Thomas,

We are just using IBM FileNet P8 Content Engine. I created this "request" based on the hint in given support ticket TS012233404.

Hello, License Service is formally not a part of ILMT product. LS is an internal component, part of other IBM products which are installed on the clusters. Because of this, the new requirements for LS should be routed via one of these products.

Can you provide more details on what IBM products are being reported by LS in this case, so that we can properly route this requirement internally?
