Change the need for matching SQL ID and Schema Name in SQL Server

As per the CP4BA documentation, “the default schema name that is associated with a user must be the same as the username”
(Reference: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/cloud-paks/cp-biz-automation/25.0.0?topic=scripts-creating-sql-server-database).

We are currently migrating from traditional on‑prem BAW to CP4BA and are planning to reuse the existing database schemas from the on‑prem environment. In traditional BAW, we use Windows Authentication, where the database user ID follows a convention such as BAWAppIDDev, while the associated schema name is a different value (for example, bawuser).

In CP4BA, since Windows Authentication is not supported, we plan to use local SQL authentication. However, our security team enforces strict naming conventions for SQL user IDs, which do not align with the existing schema names we are reusing from on‑prem BAW.

Given this constraint, we would like to:

  • Confirm whether CP4BA supports using a database user name that is different from the schema name, and
  • Request enhancement or clarification if this capability is already supported but not documented.

If this is not currently supported, we recommend enabling flexibility to decouple SQL user names from schema names to support common migration and security requirements.
