Hi Alan,
Update, you can consider this Idea as 'delivered'.
Just enable ERM on the current cache only AG’s and use native product functionality to place documents on hold. IE., arsdoc hold_add, Windows Client, ICN Client or ODWEK APIs.
Keep in mind, it is not considered a best practice to enable Enhanced Retention Management or Enterprise Records when your documents are stored exclusively in a cache-only storage node, because cache is not considered long term storage. However, the physical data will not be deleted from cache during cache expiration; it will only be deleted from cache once the Life of Data and Indexes value has been reached, document expiration is run, and no holds exist on the documents.
Thanks,

Hi Alan,
From a CMOD perspective this is 'Not under Consideration'. Cache is technically not permanent storage, only meant for short term and therefore technically 'volatile'. ERM not indended for Cache-only. Cache has multiple links - could create scaling issues. The CMOD recommendation is to use ' File system' storage which was added prior to 10.5 and does not involve symbolic links.
Thanks,
Neil Parrott
Hi IBM,
Do we have any update on this Policy to not Support HOLD for Cache only CMOD environments?
We are really keen to ERM and have not been able to.
A Custom solution that we have been working on is not really fit for purpose.
