This Idea will reduce the TAT(Turn Around Time) significantly for CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) usage.

The Third Party Teams ,who integrate with FileNet through CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services), does not need to wait until FileNet Application Team/Admin Team gives assistance and says that this Particular Property Value is causing an Issue.
It would benefit all the Third Party Teams who integrate with FileNet through CMIS.
It should give proper total informative error message.

More details:
he CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) spec says error codes must contain:

3.1.5 Errors and Exceptions
Exceptions MUST be mapped to the appropriate HTTP status code.
Repositories SHOULD provide sufficient information in the body of the HTTP response for a user to determine corrective action.
See section 3.2.3 HTTP Status Codes for more information.

Looking at the customers example in the case:</faultstring><detail><cmisFault xmlns:ns2="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/core/200908/" xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/messaging/200908/"><type>constraint</type><code>409</code><message>
CIL1601: The service cannot be completed because a value that was specified for a property violated a constraint.
Explanation: The value that was specified for a property is outside the permitted range or the value exceeds the maximum length allowed.
Action: Use the property definition of the object type to get the valid range and maximum length.

The error contains the http status code and a description.  So technically, while the error could be more detailed, we are adhering to the specification.

Customers take on this:
Actual Error which was sent now is as below , which does not say which property is causing the issue.

</faultstring><detail><cmisFault xmlns:ns2="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/core/200908/" xmlns="http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/cmis/messaging/200908/"><type>constraint</type><code>409</code><message>
CIL1601: The service cannot be completed because a value that was specified for a property violated a constraint.
Explanation: The value that was specified for a property is outside the permitted range or the value exceeds the maximum length allowed.
Action: Use the property definition of the object type to get the valid range and maximum length.

Expected Error Message which  Third Party is looking to send back from FileNet/CMIS is as below
which says:
ManufacturingLocationNumber property value is causing the issue.(Blow is written in out SystemOut.log)

Caused by: com.filenet.api.exception.EngineRuntimeException: FNRCE0010E: E_BAD_VALUE: The value given for a property or list element lies
outside the permitted range or value set, or exceeds the maximum length allowed. The value (2360787711) specified for property Formula.ManufacturingLocationNumber
is not within the range of permitted values. failedBatchItem=0 errorStack={
