Content Engine is not able to detect the max available space of a filesystem attached to a storage area

Recently we have been told by IBM Support that Filenet Content Engine is not able to detect the max size of a filesystem assigned to an storage area when having a specific configuration.

Regarding to help we thought that setting STORAGE AREA  MAXIMUMS settings to this then it would detect the filesystem max size and free space and fill the volume to it's maximum and when it would get full then it would close automatically and assign a new one on standby...:

- Maximum number of elements: Unlimited

- Maximum size: Maximum allowed on device

But not, regarding to IBM support  the Content Engine is not able to detect the max size and free space of the filesystem and if the filesystem is full then it's not closed automatically and throws error until I mark it, manually, as full and assign another one configured on standby.
