Need more standard colors in the color legend

The current color legend functionality in IBM Blueworks Live presents several limitations that make it difficult to establish and maintain standardized color schemes.

  • Limited color selection: Administrators cannot manually select a specific color when defining a color legend. The Add New option automatically assigns a color, making it difficult to control the color sequence and ensure that the same colors are used consistently across different legends and systems.
  • Poor color visibility in the configuration menu: Colors displayed in the color selection menu appear transparent or differ visually from how they are rendered on the actual maps. This makes it difficult for administrators to identify and distinguish colors accurately when configuring legends. It may also create accessibility challenges, particularly for users with color vision deficiencies.
  • Difficulty maintaining consistency across multiple legends: With three to four standard color legends in use, there is a need to reuse specific colors consistently across systems and tools. The current configuration process makes it challenging to assign and maintain the same colors for corresponding categories across different legends, increasing the risk of inconsistency.
  • Limitation on the number of colors: Blueworks Live currently limits predefined color legends to 16 colors. Some use cases require more than 16 distinct colors, preventing all relevant categories from being represented within a single standardized legend.
