Fixed Content Device Staging using Database Storage Location
With the move to containerization we are finding that support of and implementation of NFS or other mounted file systems like Network Attached Storage (NAS) or Storage Attached Network (SAN) are no longer acceptable. We have requirements however for WORM Immutable storage achieved by Fixed Content Device connection to Hitachi Content Provider (HCP) in aligned mode (SEC requirements). Fixed Content Device (FCD) connectivity to HCP requires a staging location which is typically an NFS mount to same file system from multiple Content Platform Engine (CPE) servers. The Read Write Many aspect is critical for access to this file system due any CPE JVM in domain processing from the shared staging location. To become agnostic to local shared file systems requirement for staging (NAS or SAN), we would like to see that A or THE data base storage area be used for staging, including modifying existing staging location to use database storage locations.
