Parameter Limit Customization

Recently we got on the latest IBM RPA versions the limitation of characters when setting parameters values. This impacted existing bots and new projects implementation.

As owner of an On Premise environment I would like to be able to customize this limitation for as many characters I need from business requests.

Parameters like URLs or simple reference codes list can get higher than 100-200 chars easiliy and observing the database I don't see a relevant impact in data sizing.

    Hi Joba,

Here some few examples from our Blue Prism production environment (There are hundreds of them there). For IBM RPA migration all these would require workarounds if this limitation is in place. We understand this can be replaced by external sources or even concatenation in multiple parameters, but that's exactly what we're trying to avoid.

200 characters is a fair amount of characters for parameters. Which Urls exceed that? What other types of parameters are you using?

Instead of 200, which would be the proper amount in your opinion?

    Hi Joba,

When add a value to a parameter in web, there's a limitation in the number of characters to 200.

Since parameters are used by bots to store data that can easily exceed this limitation (URLs, Reference Codes, etc), we would like to increase this limit.

As On Premise infrastructure owner, this could be solved by allowing me to customize the limit to my tenants.

    Hi, I didn't quite understand.

Is there an error you're experiencing when using parameters? Where? In the Control Center, Studio, runtime?

Are you able to set the parameters as you want, but then an error occurs when running in Studio, runtime?
