Unable to specify a custom version while deploying XOM to RES V8.12.0

When we deploy XOM to RES V8.12.0 by using API or from RES Console, by default it uses a sequential XOM version numbering, such as: 1.0, 2.0 etc.

While deploying XOM we see only two options: 1) Increment resource major version, 2) Increment resource minor version

In our scenario, we need to deploy XOM with a custom version number such as "2.79".

PS:
In Rule Designer, we can set the RuleApp "Base Version" and Decision Operation "Base Version" easily which showed up in RES Console correctly.
So, it is very intuitive that we would want to version our XOM in the same manner so that to align it with the RuleApp base version.

    Hello,

It is intended that the versions on XOM resources are strictly controlled. There is no way to set a totally custom version on XOM resources.

That being said, setting a custom version is allowed on a library in RES. A library can be referenced from a ruleset (see managed URI), and inside a library, there are references to XOM resources.

You should first create a library with your custom version and then reference it by the ruleset you're deploying.
