This is an IBM Automation portal for Digital Business Automation products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We have a sizeable number of business users running simulations over decision runner at any point in time. These simulations can typically range a few million scenarios and a few of them may be on the go at any point in time taking anywhere between a 5mts to 5 hours.
To better manage the limited system resources on the m/c running the decision service we intend to limit the number of simulations that can be allowed to be initiated at any point in time especially when there is a pressing demand of simulations already running and the system resources are under a stretch.
This may have been covered by some documentation that we have not come across yet, but we get some advice on least intrusive approaches (without BC or Decision Runner apps customisations) on:
- How we can identify #simulation’s running and their status (e.g. “RUNNING”) in DC Runner at any point in time.
- Any references that may help us manage the simulation batch jobs effectively e.g. queuing or rejecting the simulation request (where for e.g. say #5 simulations are already running)
It is to be noted that we use the CDI interface where a decision runner application is running on dedicated XU pool and a decision engine that is running locally on the same m/c.
