Decision Center Merge feature to allow bulk override merges instead of choosing for each rule artifact in the differences window

Decision Center has Merge branches feature to merge the changes from Change Activity to another CA or from Release to a Branch or from Release to a Release.

As part of the first step after selecting source and destination branches, merge will compute the differences and show up all the changes along with conflicts/modified/new elements.

In this page, one has to visit each rule artifact and choose the action drop down whether not to modify at the destination or replace the change in the destination. Though this allow one to carefully evaluate their changes and proceed with the merging, when it comes to a merge b/w Release and a branch, we end up with seeing huge number of conflicts even if there is no changes in the content but just a version number change. with this one has to still visit each rule artifact to choose the action drop down to override at the destination.

Our recommendation to product feature team is that, please add a feature to do a bulk update during the merge where one should be able to make a selection as "replace it is destination" for all the rule artifacts at once just like we have do not modify selected by default for all artifacts. This will avoid user to visit the each rule artifacts when there are 1000s of conflicts to make a same selection for each artifact.

    Hello,

the ODM team will contact you to get more information on your specific use cases. By default, when a user performs a merge between branches, an action is set for each difference.
