User inactivity - logging and automated LDAP role unassignment > 90 days - audit requirements

All (!) companies must fulfill cyber security requirements which are not yet feature in ODM:

  • ISO 27001

    In addition, in automotive industry
    TISAX requirements

in addition, companies with critical infrastructure.

NIS 2 (EU 2022/2555) and RCE (EU 2022/2557)

ODM is not technically compliant as it is featured now.

Validity Periods needs to be in place for all productive applications as part of these requirements

Proposal from Requestor (Description of post-change process): Validity Periods, Accounts must be disabled after 90 days of inactivity

According to business requirements the period may change and needs to be customizable

ODM allows management of user accounts via Active directory. Currently ODM does not de-activate the role if users have not logged into the application since 90 days. The process to be set up would look like this.

• scan if a user logged in (every day, job) and add 1 to a idle_counter.

• Create an automated message after 70 days to the user that he/she/it will be logged out on day 90 of his inactivity.

• If logges in, prolong / re-initalize the counter.

PROVIDE A REST API or a report OUT OF THE BOX to un-assign the application based role in active directory (when e.g. 90 days are reached) or to create an email (when e.g. 70 days are reached)

We saw that IBM – in a context different from ODM – describes system parameters which go into the right direction:
