Eclipse 2020.06 contains vulnerabilities so ODM v8.11 should be compatible with the most recent version 2024-03

My organization's information Security area prevents us from downloading vulnerable software from the various marketplaces for IDEs. This includes the Eclipse marketplace or eclipse.org. Because of this, our rule application developers are not able to obtain the Rule Designer software they need, to be able to work with rule applications in ODM. We need a 2024-03 compatible version of Rule Designer for our rule developers to be able to migrate their rule applications from ODM v8.10.5.xx to ODM v8.11.1.xx as an in-place migration is not possible due to us switching from traditional WAS to Liberty.

    Hello,

The Eclipse version for ODM 8.11 - Rule Designer is the last one that supports Java 8, which is the required Java version for ODM 8.11.x. Any upgrade to a higher Eclipse version is impossible for ODM 8.11.x.

In ODM 8.12, Rule Designer requires the more recent Eclipse 2022.06. And we expect again a newer version of Eclipse to be required in a next ODM release.
