Allow ODM sample server to run with OUT Admin rights

In ODM 8.10.0 and all previous versions, admin rights were not required to run Rule Designer or to start/stop the sample server.

During Fannie Mae's testing of ODM 8.10.5.1 and ODM 8.11.1, they noticed admin rights are required to start/stop the sample server.  They discussed this issue with IBM in a technical support case.  They were told there was no effective workaround, as it is a limitation of the product now to require admin rights for the sample server.  For security reasons, Fannie Mae does not allow end users to have admin rights.  The OS in question for all of this is Windows 10, and this all involves ODM Rule Designer.

Liberty Server doesn't require admin to install nor run, though. So I'm not sure why Samples Console does.

Hello, as mentioned earlier, this is a bit outside the scope of what the ODM team can do. Would it be an option to consider ODM for Developers, an all-in-one Docker image (containing Decision Center and Decision Server) ?

This is in regard to running the Sample Server.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

The ODM sample server relies on Liberty. If Liberty requires admin rights on Windows, there is not much the ODM team can do.

Regarding Rule Designer, it relies on Eclipse. Are you saying that Eclipse requires admin rights on Windows ?

    Please clarify.

    Thank you
