Enable CaseSynchronizer to run in "report" mode

Enable CaseSynchronizer to run in "report" mode =====================================

  1. Client reported a concern that, in large installations, they need to anticipate the impact of running CaseSynchronizer tool.

  • client expects granularity of the tool so that to control the scope of synchronization to the level of case tasks

  • need more details about what end-users can expect the tool actually does

  • client would like to see (as a request for enhancement) tha the tool has a report mode (not persisting changes)

CaseSynchronizer syntax:

CaseSynchronizer -report <parameter list>


Option: -report

parameter to run CaseSynchronizer in report mode (not persisting changes to Case Types) to inform amount of case instances under the scope of the execution:

Output (report) provides statistics like below :

# Case Types - list of Case Types subject to synchronization

Client has also additional suggestions to enhance CaseSynchronizer tool:


2. Options to apply additional filters so that it can reduce the number of cases being touched, or only synchronize a smaller subset.


Please include more operations like delete, update Case/Task types, document and case folder on New, In-fight and closed cases/tasks. Also there must be a mechanism filter and identify subset to perform trail run for report before extending to larger subset.


Related to actual operations on case objects, there must be a mechanism to restore with same state for better confidence while using the tool.
