Internal variables for coach views

It would be very useful if we could have internal variables for Coach Views.

Currently there are Business Data, Configuration Option and Localization Resources.

I would like to add one more type of variables: "Internal".

Those variables would not be visible from outside of CV. They would be here so you can bind them to (binding or configuration option of) internal Coach View (subview) and control them programmatically.

Hello, I have the same idea so I found this idea and just want to add that the existing "private variables" feature does not fully address this use case.

Private variables in Coach View are useful for internal logic, but they cannot be directly bound to UI field bindings (e.g. as the binding target of a Text, Select, or Date field inside the Coach View). This means developers still must declare variables in the CSHS and wire them through input/output mappings — even when those variables are only needed for temporary UI-side calculations or intermediate display values.

    The core request is:
    — A Coach View-scoped variable that can be used as a direct field binding target
    — Not exposed to or required by the CSHS
    — Usable in boundary events and Coach View scripts for calculations

This is distinct from private variables, which are not bindable to Coach View fields. I would suggest reopening or creating a new idea specifically for "field-bindable local variables in Coach View."

Hi Francesca, this idea concerned Coach Views, not Coaches/CSHS.
Inside a coach view, there are no private/internal variables.

Thank you for your idea submission. We provide private variables, which we believe is the same to your idea of internal variables. Closing this idea for now.
