One way would be to have local eclipse (ironically, isn't it?) and to have xml files for artifact (library items) like in IBM Integration Bus. Then we could utilize Git to handle changes. Having local files would also be beneficial when we search for certain string because we could utilize Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code to do the search through the application.

The other way would be to have a wizard. The wizard would have to know how to merge the library items and not just override them. It's tough but IBM could start small, artifact type by type and we as a users can provide feedback.

Much needed feature in IBM BPM to support parallel development.

I agree 100%. Not just merge but checkout/checkin, diff, blame, etc. Source Control is a fundamental requirement in any enterprise development application and there just isn't any here. Even a twx export expanded and committed to Git is fairly useless with all the noise and obfuscation. I don't need to know if things were moved around on a diagram but aside from that, I don't think there's anything that shouldn't be 'diffable'.

    Hi IBM Product Team,

Well, we are in 2021 & things are evolving very quickly all around us. I have been working on BAW/IBM BPM/Lomardi Teamwork's from last 12+ years. It has been good ride so far, but when I see when it comes to code merge or parallel development for more than 1 release, it's a very big pain to get things done in BAW/IBM BPM.

My current project has like 5+ different tracks to do development for multiple release & when it comes to code merge, we are merging the code manually from tracks to Main Branch. We have to re-write each & everything. Why can't we just have GITHUB like merge feature?? What's stopping us to have such feature in latest version BAW 20.0.0.2 version??

A quick response on this is highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
