Truly readonly Views

When a View in BAW has READONLY visibility it has a disabled HTML attribute set. This attribute causes that the content of View cannot be selected and copied in FireFox which is a supported browser.

This RFE aims to either change the disabled HTML attribute to readonly attribute or introduce new way how to make Views truly readonly.

Your comment is not quite right in terms of specifications.

Only firefox implements disabled attribute as defined in specification (https://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-html5-20141028/forms.html#concept-fe-disabled) "A form control that is disabled must prevent any click events that are queued on the user interaction task source from being dispatched on the element." This is nicely translated to human language here (https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_input_disabled.asp) "A disabled input element is unusable and un-clickable."

When visibility is READONLY the readonly attribute should be used on inputs as it is design to provide such behavior (https://www.w3.org/TR/2014/REC-html5-20141028/forms.html#the-readonly-attribute) "The readonly attribute is a boolean attribute that controls whether or not the user can edit the form control. When specified, the element is not mutable."

Solution is to change the attribute which is set when Views are READONLY and introduce new DISABLED visibility type for disabled inputs to fix the behavior in BAW.

It is also not an option to duplicate each field with Output Text in scenario where user click Validate button and then all fields are readonly on the fly. This would cause performance hit in terms of speed and page load size as the DOM would be larger.

"Output text" behaves differently. You can copy text from that CV when it's read-only.

The "Text" CV seems to have problem because it uses input. Firefox behaves very strangely. When you right-click on disabled input you get copy command (not disabled), however it seems to have no effect when you choose it. Since copy command is displayed in Firefox (even if it doesn't work), and disabled input works in Google Chrome, Opera, IE and Edge, this should be reported to Mozilla.
