Ability to Define a Default Workplace Task List View with Custom Columns for All Users

In IBM BAW Workplace https://x.x.x.x:xxxx/Workplace, custom business data properties (for example: Branch, Approval Decision, Account Number) can be exposed as task properties and added as columns in the Tasks view.

While these custom columns work correctly, they are not displayed by default. Each user must manually open Customize your view and apply or re-apply a saved view after login.

Even when a customized view is saved and shared with teams, the view:

  • Does not persist across logout/login

  • Is not automatically applied as the default view

  • Requires manual user action to activate

This behavior is inconsistent with user expectations and differs from the legacy Process Portal behavior.

Requested Enhancement

Provide a supported and upgrade-safe mechanism to define a default Workplace task list view, including custom business data columns, that is:

  • Automatically applied for all users or selected teams

  • Effective for both existing and newly created tasks

  • Persistent across login/logout sessions

  • Centrally managed by administrators

Expected Capabilities

  • Ability to mark a saved view as Default for users or teams

  • Admin-level configuration to enforce default task list columns

  • Server-side or Workplace configuration option

  • Coach / UI extension support with official documentation

Current Workarounds & Limitations

  • Users must manually apply saved views after login

  • Saved views are not automatically activated

  • Legacy Process Portal behaves differently, causing confusion
