WebPD compatibility with Internet Explorer 11

After updating the BAW from 20.0.0.1 To 21.0.3.1, WebPD URLs are not opening in IE. We have opened a cases TS016251380, TS016277223 and TS016924100 and IBM suggested to use Modern Browser. When Application teams are using modern browsers, they are able to open WebPD URLs. But Data is not loading due to below CORS issue.

VM789:3 ECUs URL000 : https://edex-qa.daimler.com/campaign-management-service/api/campaign/management/getEcus
VM790:3 ECU Details URL : https://edex-qa.daimler.com/software-releasepackage-service/api/software/package/getDbcdSerials?DB_CD=81Z-010
debugcf:1 Access to XMLHttpRequest at 'https://edex-qa.daimler.com/software-releasepackage-service/api/software/package/getDbcdSerials?DB_CD=81Z-010' from origin 'https://stnaicvdl100.us164.corpintra.net:8443' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource.

In order to get applications to work successfully in modern browsers that enforce CORS, IBM suggested below two options.

Option 1: We must update your network to accommodate CORS security standards because many of your process applications make cross-origin XMLHttpRequest calls that all modern browsers block when the network is not configured to accommodate CORS.

Option 2: Redesign your process applications to not use the kinds of APIs for which modern browsers enforce CORS security when making cross-origin requests. That includes fetch() requests and XMLHttpRequest.

For Option 1, These updates need to be done at many backend services. But management is not ready, as these services are very unstable and critical.

For Option 2, Application team don’t have enough resources/expertise to redesign the application.

Can you please check if there is any possibility to update the Process Designer code and make it compatible with IE 11 and provide Interim fix for this issue.

    Hi Jayanth,

Thank you for submitting the idea. Microsoft ended support for Internet Explorer 11 on June 15, 2022 and we have no current plans to support this on prior/new releases. Support for BAW 21.0.3.1 ends shortly as well as described here:
    https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-business-automation-workflow-and-ibm-integration-designer-software-support-lifecycle-addendum
My suggestion would be to plan an upgrade to BAW 24.0.0.0 and use a supported browser.

    Thank you!
