REST API for Individual Dataset Deletion and Dataset ID Management

Currently, Process Mining does not provide a REST API for deleting an individual uploaded CSV dataset. Customers who need to remove data must rely on a workaround that uploads an empty CSV containing only the header row while using dataSetOverride=true. This effectively performs a "tombstone overwrite" rather than a true dataset deletion.

The absence of a dataset deletion capability also forces customers to build retention and purge processes around tombstone uploads rather than using a supported lifecycle-management API.

Provide a REST API that allows deletion of an individual dataset without affecting other datasets within the project.

The API could:

  • Delete a single dataset without resetting the entire project.
  • Support deletion by dataset ID.
  • Optionally support deletion by file name.
  • Return clear success and error responses.
  • Be fully automatable through REST APIs.
  • Maintain auditability and logging of deletion actions.

Additionally, when a dataset is uploaded, the platform should return and maintain a unique dataset identifier.

Request Please provide a REST API for deleting an individual dataset, as requested in IPM-I-154. The dataset should be identifiable either by file name or by a separate dataset ID. Please provide an explicit dataset ID when a dataset is created or uploaded, so that delete and update operations can be performed safely without relying on the file name.
