We already allow to install databases on separate servers. The same for MonetDB (which we use as computation engine and therefore doesn't require usual database maintenance, like backup and restore).
However, IBM can handle MonetDB installation, upgrade and support ONLY if installed as part of IBM Process Mining (i.e. same server).
If the customer is willing to install it in a separate server, IBM will not be responsible for any installation, upgrade or support.
Hello,
I strongly support the introduction of an external MonetDB instance, as well as the general use of external databases.
This is especially important in large financial institutions, insurance companies, or government organizations, where strict separation between application and data layers is often required.
Additionally, most companies have separate teams responsible for applications and databases.
Such separation allows each team to focus on their area of expertise:
* The database team can concentrate on availability, performance, and data backup.
* The application team focuses on presentation and functional aspects.
I'm curious how it goes with this Idea.
