in Workflow capability it is not possible to update the value of an XMLElement variable of a tasks using the Process Inspector or the REST APIs.

If you create a private variable of a task of kind XMLElement and you want to change its value from the process inspector or usingn the REST APIs, you simply get an error.

The impossibility to change those variable it is preventing the correction of some process instances from being able to proceed correctly.

We think it is important to permit the edit of any variable kind in the context of any activity in a process.
