Allow Content Search Service to connect to an external OpenSearch

Currently, OpenSearch has replace ElasticSearch as the default search engine used by the Cloud Pak for Business Automation - FNCM Search facility.

  • Our customer is considering the usage of OpenSearch as a managed service offered on AWS instead of using the built-in instance for:
  • lack of internal expertise to properly maintain this service
  • the very high disk requirements for their search indexes (They have around 60TB of data so we can expect the same amount if not higher of index data)
  • replication requirements across regions (for DR purposes)

 

From what I know now, this capability works with standalone FNCM but has just not been tested with FileNet included in the CP4BA. It needs then:to

  1. Validate if the function is working from withing the Cloud Pak distribution
  2. Fix if it doesn't work as-is today
