Currently, the ARSYSPIN STORLIMIT keyword allows three actions: abend, hold, and retry. We set a size limit in MB or GB, and when the collection has an incoming selection of sysout/spool file that is larger than the limit, it can only do three things: abend ARSYSPIN, put the collection on hold, or retry (with the too-large sysout still being too large...). What we'd like to do is have STORLIMIT truncate the incoming item that is too large. If it's over the designated size limit, then truncate the item to a specified value, then try to load it into the collection again.
Eg: Someone generates a spool file that is 4GB. We only want to capture the first 5MB of that file, because that will typically contain all the log data that is useful to us. Or we only want to retain a place-in-time entry in CMOD to show that the job that produced the file has run (and that it had trouble; the presence of the RC would be expected, as normal).

Do you want a limit, or, want to store a ‘document’ > 2GB?
If you want a limit, what would the expectation be with the spool file after we captured the 5M? Delete it or put a hold on it, or something else?
Thanks
