Enhance Process Diagram Visualization with Connector Color Customization and Rich Text Annotation Formatting

Blueworks Live provides effective process modeling capabilities; however, diagram readability can become challenging in large or complex process maps containing multiple alternate paths, escalation flows, integrations, and annotations.

We propose enhancing diagram visualization through two related capabilities:

1. Custom Connector and Flow-Line Colors

Allow users to apply custom colors to flow lines and connector arrows within process diagrams. This would enable teams to visually differentiate between:

  • Primary vs. alternate process paths
  • Exception and escalation flows
  • Automated vs. manual activities
  • System integrations and external interactions
  • Different departments, business units, or process categories


2. Rich Text Formatting for Annotations

Allow users to format text annotations with:

  • Custom text colors
  • Adjustable font sizes
  • Bold formatting
  • (Optionally) italic and underline formatting

This would make it easier to highlight critical notes, requirements, warnings, assumptions, dependencies, and implementation guidance directly within the diagram.
