The status has not been updated since the screenshot was provided. What is the udpate?
I'm attaching a screen shot. It seems like the user has to enter the black box to get to the reference link by going through the small triangle at the top of the box. The user can't just slide the cursor straight down into the black box. If you try to do that, it disappears. If there needs to be a specific entry point into the black box to get to the reference link, the the triangle at the top of the box should cover a good portion of the box so it's easy to slide the cursor down to get to the reference link.
