This is an IBM Automation portal for Digital Business Automation products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

We agree this would be a very useful feature, however, the way the product is currently designed would require significant engineering to enable this functionality. So in terms of development this would be unlikely to be available in near term future but we would like to keep this as a future roadmap consideration. However a potential workaround could be to utilise an API to deliver details across the other Tasks across other geos. So update once centrally, and enable other geos to trigger an API call to update the Task with the correct detail & update. We can provide the API to enable the update but the client would have to write the API logic to suit their requirements. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/blueworks-live?topic=blueprints-blueprintsblueprint-idactivitiesactivity-iddetails
Hi Suzette,
Thanks for the comment and your opinion. The enabling of tasks to be reused definitely will make things easier and will help us to reduce redundancy which is always handled through workaround.
But as BWL is such a good & leading process modeling tool, I am a bit surprised as to how this has never been a priority. All tools in process modeling ARIS, SIGNAVIO, BIZZDESIGN, APPIAN, SPARX etc have this functionality out of the box. Now a days process modeling is more enhanced to integrate with other architecture elements like capabilities etc and hence this should be an immediate concern for the BWL team rather than a long term consideration.
My two cents- Thanks
Regards,
Kaushik
Thanks for your request!
We have longer-term plans to allow task reuse across blueprints. Task reuse is a feature that appears in the BPMN2 standard, and Blueworks Live aligns with the standard wherever it makes sense.
The BPMN2 standard does not cover reuse of events or gateways. As such, we have no plans to enable reuse of events or gateways. But we will monitor and would be happy to revisit that decision if there's sufficient interest across the Blueworks Live customer base.
Thanks again!
The Blueworks Live team
