Improve Search

The search is limited in a few important aspects. First, viewers do not have the same search capabilities as Editors and Contributors. Second, the search API functions differently than the search in the user interface. The API is limited to a single search term at a time (OData could address this limitation). Third, the user interface search does not provide an advanced search where a user can be more prescriptive about what they want to search (e.g. Search only the process name, search only the participant name, search participant name and system name, match only exact text, etc.) In summary we would like options for both broad and specific search capabilities that are consistent across the user types, user interface and API.

    Our viewers need full content search in BWL. We have over 300 processes that support the work our users perform. It's very difficult for the Viewer user to find the process they need when they don't have full content search.

    Hi Andy - could you provide a little more information about the limitations you are experiencing with the Viewer Search capability? What do Viewers in your account need to search on that they are unable to search on today? Thanks!
