Support for DB2 fo existing Client

Overview and Problem Statement

Several existing BAMOE v8 customers currently use distributed DB2 as their backend database. They lack the tools, expertise, or operational flexibility to manage alternative database platforms such as PostgreSQL/Oracle. Without DB2 support in BAMOE v9+, these customers face significant friction in upgrading to newer versions, which could impact retention

Business Context

DB2 remains a strategic database choice for many IBM clients, especially in BFSI. Supporting DB2 in BAMOE ensures continuity for these customers. It also reduces migration overhead and preserves existing infrastructure investments


Goals

Enable BAMOE core components (e.g., Persistence, Data Index, Jobs Service) to run on distributed DB2

Validate schema compatibility and runtime stability with DB2

Provide configuration guidance and tuning recommendations for DB2-based deployments

Support upgrade paths from BAMOE v8 to v9+ for DB2 users
