IBM Navigator / Edit Service OIDC Support

Today we are using Edit Service with SAML on Weblogic. We are in the transition to CP4BA and it is the company's rule to implement SSO with OIDC.  We are requesting to enhance the Navigator Edit Service to support OIDC for SSO.

Here are the results from our test in the customer environment

     Actual versions:

    • CP4BA 24.0.0-IF003 - SSO/OIDC
    • ICN icn310.002.109 (202410221808)
    • ICN Edit Service 3.1.0.0
    • CPE ears-5.6.0-2-95

     Test result:

In general, it works fine and from a functional view we have no issues, document can be checked-out/checked-in using SSO/OIDC. What we find out, and it seems to be a known issue using SSO with Edit Service and is not related to the actual used SSO solution.

If we are logged in ICN more than 30min/1h and we want to edit a document over Edit Service we get following error window, nevertheless the document can be checked out and will be opened.

The popup window  shows: Can't find a valid secret key from current session
    (Request number: 138032)

You can work on the document, check-in and a new version will be created, without issues. The error message can be clicked away before or after.

I search about this error, and I found some ticket regarding that. It was fixed on the 3.1.0.0 release but for SSO/Kerberos. I cannot test Kerberos because I haven’t already a system for that, but I test on the source system with SAML (already supported) and on the target system using OIDC and on both the error windows come up. I think they fixed the issue but only regarding the SSO/Kerberos and not for other SSO solutions.

IO29405: ERROR.NO.SECRET.KEY NULL WHEN USING THE IBM CONTENT NAVIGATOR (ICN) EDIT SERVICE

     Conclusion:

Yes, it works fine but the timeout/reconnect issue should be fixed also for other SSO solutions. How we should proceed shall I open a IBM case and send you the case number?
