Decision Table Precondition – Unused Variable Warning Flag Enhancement
If you have unused variables in an action rule it causes a warning and underlines the variable informing the developer of the issue. With a Decision Table if you have unused variables that are created in the preconditions tab they do not cause warnings or get underlined.
Because of this we have many unused variables in our rule services taking up space on the heap because often times a developer does not realize the variables are no longer being used when changes are made to the table.
We would like IBM to flag these unused Decision Table precondition variables as warnings just like they do for action rules.
Examples are provided in the attached file.
