BAI should index decisions list data a JSON arrays in the ElasticSearch Index

List of objects in the BOM of a decision event is flattered in the JSON document. For instance, a Client object with a list of Product is represented as the JSON object:

“data.ruleapp.ruleset.in.client.products.1.id”: “id1”,

“data.ruleapp.ruleset.in.client.products.1.price”: 100,

“data.ruleapp.ruleset.in.client.products.2.id”: “id2”,

“data.ruleapp.ruleset.in.client.products.2.price” 200


It should be indexed as a proper JSON array:

“data.ruleapp.ruleset.in.client.products”: [ {“id”: “id1”, “price”:100}, {“id”: “id2”, “price”: 200}]

First reason is because every data item of the JSON object generates a column in the index of ElasticSearch. A Client with 500 products will generate 500 x 2 data members = 1000 columns. The default limit for the number of columns of an index is 1000, so it will break the index.

Second reason is because it is not usable to create business dashboards in Kibana. You cannot aggregate to compute the average price of products, you can only compute average price of products in the first position of the List, the second ...
